ChatAssistant for Windows Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
ChatAssistant (published on the Microsoft Store as “ChatAssistant - Business”) is a Windows PC app that automatically answers the customers who write to your business on WhatsApp, following rules that you create. It works through WhatsApp Web, which the app opens inside itself with Microsoft Edge WebView2, as a linked device of your own WhatsApp account. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it is kept and how you can delete it.
In short: everything ChatAssistant works with stays on your PC. There are no ChatAssistant servers, no user accounts, no analytics and no ads. The developer never receives your messages, your customers’ data or your files. If you subscribe to ChatAssistant Pro, Microsoft handles the payment through the Microsoft Store.
1. Who is responsible
ChatAssistant is developed and published by Web Business Tools (Blasmani Titi), from Peru. You can write to us at webbusinesstoolspro@gmail.com.
Because the app keeps all of its data on your own PC, the developer has no access to it. You control that data and can delete it at any time, as explained in section 7.
2. Information processed on your PC
All of the following is processed and stored only on your PC, in the data folder Windows gives the app inside your user profile:
- Incoming messages in one-to-one chats. When a new message arrives in an individual chat, the app reads its text and the sender’s name and number to compare it with your rules and decide whether to reply. It also reads the messages you send yourself, only to detect the exact phrases you set up as triggers. Messages from groups, status updates, broadcast lists and channels are ignored, and the app does not keep copies of your conversations.
- Your rules. Names, keywords, reply texts, active hours, delays, follow-ups and the other options of each rule.
- Media files. The photos, videos, audio files and PDFs you choose with the Windows file picker are copied into the app’s data folder so they can be sent; audio can be converted into voice notes on your PC. The app does not browse your folders or files on its own.
- Activity log. Date and time, the customer’s name and number, an excerpt of the received message (up to 60 characters), the rule applied and the result of each send.
- Statistics. Daily counts of messages received, replies, files sent and customers served, and how many times each rule replied. They contain no message content.
- Follow-up schedule. For the follow-up messages you set up: the chat, the customer’s name, the rule, the time the follow-up is due and whether it was sent or cancelled.
- Chat memory. Chat identifiers (phone numbers) with the date each chat was first seen, the last time each rule replied in it (for anti-spam pauses) and whether the customer asked not to receive automatic replies, for example by writing “baja” or “stop”.
- WhatsApp Web session. The keys and data of the linked session, kept by the app’s built-in browser (Microsoft Edge WebView2) in the app’s data folder, just as any browser keeps a WhatsApp Web session.
- Your connected account. The name, number and profile photo of your WhatsApp account, to show them on the home page.
- Subscription status. Whether ChatAssistant Pro is active, its expiry date and the time of the last check, as reported by the Microsoft Store. It never includes your card or payment details.
- Settings. Your preferences, such as language, theme, test mode, daily reply limit and whether the app starts with Windows.
- Diagnostic logs. Technical files with the app’s errors and states (for example, that the connection dropped), useful to solve problems if you choose to send them to us. In the Microsoft Store version they contain no message content and no phone numbers, they are deleted automatically after 7 days and they are never sent automatically.
- Example content. The app comes with sample rules, texts, images, a video, a PDF and voice notes from a fictitious store, “Kusi Accesorios”, so you can try it right away. They contain no real person’s data. Replace them with your own information and files before you use the assistant with real customers.
3. What we do not do
- ChatAssistant has no servers. Nothing listed above is sent to the developer or to anyone on the developer’s behalf.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking tools and no profiling.
- No account or sign-up: you only link your own WhatsApp.
- We do not sell, rent or share data.
- The app does not use your location, camera, microphone or contacts: inside WhatsApp Web those permissions are always denied.
4. Internet connections
The app connects to the internet only for the following:
- WhatsApp Web. The built-in browser opens web.whatsapp.com and loads what WhatsApp Web needs from WhatsApp and Meta servers and content networks. It is your own WhatsApp Web session: the communication with WhatsApp is the same as in any browser, messages keep WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption, and WhatsApp’s terms and privacy policy apply to it.
- Your profile photo. The app downloads your own account’s profile photo from WhatsApp’s servers to show it on the home page.
- The web connector. To read new messages and send replies, the app uses an open-source connector (WPPConnect wa-js) that is included inside the app. The connector features that would send data to third parties, such as Google Analytics statistics and link previews through external servers, are turned off. The app does not download new connector versions: it only changes when you update the app from the Microsoft Store.
- Microsoft Store (ChatAssistant Pro). To show the price, sell the subscription, restore it and check whether it is still active, the app talks to the Microsoft Store on your PC. Microsoft processes the purchase and your payment method under the Microsoft Store terms and the Microsoft Privacy Statement; the app never sees your payment details. For sales reports and refunds, Microsoft shares with the developer the purchase information it gives every Microsoft Store developer (such as date, product, price and country), never your card details.
- Microsoft and Windows. Microsoft distributes and updates the app through the Microsoft Store, and the built-in browser is Microsoft Edge WebView2, provided by Microsoft, which may check the addresses it opens with Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. Depending on your Windows diagnostic settings, Microsoft may also receive error reports. The Microsoft Privacy Statement applies to these services.
- Actions you start. If you export the activity log, open a link or write to us by email, the location or app you choose is used and only what you decide to share is sent. We use the information in your email only to answer you.
5. Windows features the app uses
- Internet: to connect to WhatsApp Web and the Microsoft Store.
- Notifications: to alert you if the session disconnects or something needs your attention. You can turn them off in Windows Settings › System › Notifications.
- Background: when you close the window, the app keeps working to reply to your customers. You will find it in the icon next to the clock, where you can open it, pause it or exit completely.
- Start with Windows: only if you turn on “Start with Windows” in Settings (it is off by default). You can also turn it off in Windows Settings › Apps › Startup.
- Keep the PC awake: only while a reply is being sent, the app asks Windows not to put the PC to sleep, for a limited time.
- Files: the app only reads the files you choose with the Windows picker and saves the exported log where you tell it to.
- Desktop app: like other desktop apps, ChatAssistant runs with the permissions of a Windows desktop application (the Microsoft Store shows this as “Uses all system resources”). The app only uses the features described in this policy.
6. Security
Data is stored in the app’s data folder inside your Windows profile. People who use your PC with another Windows account cannot see it, but anyone who uses your Windows session can open the app. We recommend protecting your Windows account with a password, PIN or Windows Hello.
The logs you export are saved where you choose and contain your customers’ names, numbers and message excerpts: keep them in a safe place and delete them when you no longer need them.
7. Retention and deletion
- Rules and files: kept until you delete them. Deleting a rule also deletes the files no other rule uses.
- Activity log: at most the 2,000 most recent entries and nothing older than 30 days; older ones are deleted automatically. “Clear” in the Activity log deletes it whenever you want (statistics are kept).
- Follow-ups: follow-ups already sent or cancelled are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Anti-spam memory: the last time each rule replied in each chat is kept for at most one year.
- Statistics and chat memory: kept on your PC while you use the app, so that welcomes, opt-outs and your charts keep working.
- Diagnostic logs: deleted automatically after 7 days.
- WhatsApp Web session: “Log out of WhatsApp Web” in Settings unlinks this PC from your account and deletes the saved name and number of your account; your rules and files are kept. You can also unlink it from your phone, in WhatsApp › Linked devices.
- Everything: uninstall the app (Windows deletes its data folder) or reset it in Windows Settings › Apps › Installed apps › ChatAssistant - Business › Advanced options › Reset.
- ChatAssistant Pro: the subscription belongs to your Microsoft account, not to the PC. Uninstalling the app or deleting its data does not cancel it: cancel it in your Microsoft account, at https://account.microsoft.com/services. Microsoft keeps purchase records under its own policies.
There are no copies anywhere else, so there is nothing we need to delete for you, and nothing we could recover for you.
8. Your customers’ data
If you use ChatAssistant to serve your customers, you decide what is answered and you are responsible for processing their personal data under the law that applies to you; in Peru, Personal Data Protection Law No. 29733 and its regulations. Only reply to people who write to you and respect those who ask not to receive automatic messages.
9. Minors
ChatAssistant is a business tool intended for people aged 18 or over. It is not directed at minors, in particular at children under 14 (the age below which Peruvian law requires parental consent) or under 13. We do not knowingly process minors’ data. If a minor used the app, uninstalling or resetting it removes everything it stored.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when the app’s features change. The current version is always available in the app, in Settings › Privacy policy, with its update date. If a change is important, we will also tell you in the app.
11. No relationship with WhatsApp
ChatAssistant is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC. It is mentioned only to describe what the app works with. Microsoft, Windows and the Microsoft Store are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation; the app is distributed through the Microsoft Store but is not made by Microsoft.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or your data: Web Business Tools (Blasmani Titi), webbusinesstoolspro@gmail.com.
